Heyday is a new jazz bar set in a quiet neighbourhood of the Former French Concession in Shanghai. Inspired by the city’s vibrant music scene in the1930’s, the project aims to recapture and instill some of the exuberance and life from that period. Set within a narrow wedge-shaped building, the stage marks the space as its centre and is the point from where everything emanates. A metallic ceiling in the shape of a fan radiates outwards, accentuating the performance from above and guides the audience seating on the ground. Two large windows offer glimpses of the show to people passing by.
